Drainfield Installation

Drainfield Installation in Ocala

The drainfield, also called the leach field or soil absorption area, is where the system does its final work. Wine-ohs builds gravel trench fields and gravelless chamber fields for Ocala homes, sized straight from the perc rate so treated effluent disperses through the soil without surfacing or backing up. A field built to the right size for your Marion County soil is the difference between a system that lasts 20 years and one that fails early.

Why Sizing and Soil Matter

Two lots a mile apart near 34480 can perc very differently, and a field that is too small for slow soil will surface effluent every wet season. We use the soil profile and the seasonal high water table to set the trench length and the required four feet of vertical separation to groundwater. When the numbers do not support a conventional field, we specify a chamber system or an elevated mound rather than force a design the ground cannot handle.

Our Process

We start from the site evaluation, then excavate the trenches to grade and lay the perforated distribution pipe over washed drainfield gravel or set the plastic leaching chambers. We place the distribution box to balance flow across every lateral, cover the field with geotextile fabric, and backfill to a positive slope that sheds rain. The county inspects before we finish, and you get the as built record for your file.
